Cephalocaudal trend

The cephalocaudal trend is an aspect of motor development, and in particular that of children developing their ability of moving the upper parts of the body before the lower parts. A similar phenomenon is the proximodistal trend: children learn to move first the parts that are at the center of their body and then the parts that are out from it.
