Centre for Pharmaceutical Nanotechnology (CPN) was established at NIPER (National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research), Mohali through a grant from the Department of Science & Technology (DST) of the Government of India to fuel the Indian initiative in research and development in Nanotechnology.

The CPN is presently working under two Principal Investigators-- Prof. P. Rama Rao (Director of NIPER and Head of Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology at NIPER) and Dr. M. N. V. Ravi Kumar (Assistant Professor in Department of Pharmaceutics, NIPER).
