Centralia, West Virginia
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Centralia in Braxton County, West Virginia was so named because it is in the central part of a county which also happens to be at the geographic center of the state. Its ZIP code is 26612.
Centralia was also the codename behind the film Silent Hill based on Konami's video game franchise. However, the name was scrapped and remained Silent Hill. Strangely enough, the story takes place in West Virginia, but to match the game's location, Braxton County was replaced by Toluca County. The story of a town of the same name located in Central Pennsylvania bares shocking similarity to the story of the town described in the Silent Hill motion picture.
