[edit] Operations

The airport is ten miles south-southeast of Granite Peak Ski Area, located in Rib Mountain State Park.

Central Wisconsin Airport (CWA),(pronounced "C-Way"), is a joint venture of Marathon County and Portage County of Wisconsin. The facility opened for operation in October, 1969.

In 1997, the terminal was modernized with five new gates, and the highway access has been reconstructed.

[edit] Airlines

As of 2006, three airlines provide 18 flights per day which connect through Minneapolis, Chicago, Detroit and Milwaukee. There are also nine air freight and express flights daily.

[edit] Passenger

The airport was at one time served by American Eagle Airlines with connection to Chicago-O'Hare and codeshare with mainline American Airline flights. This service was ended some time ago due to declining enplanements.
