Central West (Sydney)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Central West is a term used to describe a part of Sydney that does not fall in either the catagories of Greater Western Sydney or the Inner West. The suburbs of the Central West are located south of the Parramatta River, east of, and including, the City of Parramatta, north of, and including the City of Bankstown and west of including parts of the Municipality of Strathfield.
[edit] Suburbs
Various councils and cities are roughly covered by the Central West. They include the Parramatta, Auburn, Bankstown and the western skirts of the Municipality of Strathfield.
[edit] Character
The Central West region is a transitional one that moves away from the terrace and high density housing of the Inner West to medium density housing. Although not as historically rooted as its sister region the Inner West, the Central West is a regional centre that will eventually be incorporated by division into either the Inner West or Western Sydney regions.
