Cento Fine Foods

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Cento Fine Foods is a company that produces its own brand of Italian food products, including canned tomatoes (peeled, diced, and pureed), pasta, olive oil, rice, pastries, and confections. The company was founded in 1963, and is headquartered in Thorofare, New Jersey. Cento Fine Foods, Inc. also owns seven other brands: Anna, Bellino, Ferrara, La Florentine, Little Gina's, Plasmon, and Alemagna. Some of these products are imported from Italy, and others are produced in the U.S.

Although its products are not widely available in supermarkets, Cento provides an alternative to Progresso in higher-end canned Italian foods. Cento's can often be found in Italian specialty stores and other imported food stores. Cento's soups are ready-to-eat and do not require addition of water (unlike Campbell's Soup), and are slightly lower in salt than Progresso's products, in addition to being less expensive.
