Center manifold

In a dynamical system linearized about the equilibrium point,

\dot{\textbf{x}} = A\textbf{x}

If any eigenvalues of the matrix A are purely imaginary, then the eigenvector corresponding to that eigenvalue is said to belong to the center manifold. A center manifold is an invariant manifold under the action of the dynamics.
