Center for Music Education (CME)

The Center for Music Education was established in 2004 to provide college-level, quality education for music teachers and performers in the art of Western Classical Music. We follow the guidelines of the American Schools of Music, with an emphasis on what the student is able to do at the end of their respective courses of study.

Center for Music Education is located in Bangalore. Bangalore is called 'The Garden City of India' and one of the fastest growing cities in Asia. Center for Music Education is located at this prime location. And it is operating from New Life College where excellent amenities are being provided for a good environment, conducive to study as well as for the development of the inter-personal, academic, social growth responsibilities. Campus which is on the outer Ring Road of Bangalore at the junction of Hennur main Road. The Institution is visible from the Ring Road only 100 yards west of Hennur Main Road. Bangalore Bus depot at Hennur is less than half a Kilometer from the College. The front gate of the New Life College is on the Ashram Road connecting to Hennur Main Road. Bangalore International Airport is only 10 Km away from the Institution. City buses 292- 296 (A-F) connects to Hennur bus Depot to rest of the City.

Dr. Vinita Henson: Dr. Vinita Henson has twenty years of music teaching experience. She has earned a Bachelor of Music Education from Vanguard University, A Music Specialist California Teaching Credential with the State of California, a Master of Music Education and Doctorate of Music Education from University of Southern California
Ken Henson: Mr. Ken Henson earned his degree in Vocal Performance from California State University. He has performed as a member a variety of ensembles & performing groups as well. He has performed as a soloist in the United States, Switzerland, Austria, Hungary, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, and various parts of India. He is actively involved in giving music and conducting inspiring worship seminars in Churches

Weekly Music Instruction
Voice Training, Keyboards, Piano, Violin, Guitar, Drums, Children’s Music, etc. These classes are offered at Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced levels and are an ongoing part of the Center for Music Education’s commitment to providing quality music education to the community
The Summer Intensive Music Course
This course offers a one semester, 11-week evening, certificate program. This course is designed for professionals who has limited time but are serious about developing his or her musical abilities. It Counts for 11 credit hours toward the Associate of Arts and Bachelor of Arts degrees.
Associate of Arts Degree in Music
This is a two-year residency degree program in General Music. This course is designed to give the student a Basic Music Competency in Music Theory
Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music
This is a three-year residency program with emphases in General Music, Music Education, Vocal Arts, Keyboard, Choral Conducting, Theory & Composition or Church Music Administration. This course is designed to give the student Advanced Music Competency.
Bachelor of Music
This program is designed to develop the skills of the professional musician. Emphases available at this time are:
• Music Education
• Church Music Ministry
• Performance in Vocal, Piano, or Guitar
• Music Composition and
• Western Music History
This degree includes all of the requirements of the Bachelor of Arts Degree and has additional performance and recital requirements in the field of choice
