Center for Meteorite Studies

Center for Meteorite Studies located on the Tempe campus of Arizona State University contains over 1,500 specimens from separate meteorite falls, the largest university-based meteorite collection in the world.

Scientists at ASU and throughout the world use the collection for geological and space research. The research staff includes:

  • Meenakshi Wadhwa, museum director and ASU professor in the School of Earth and Space Exploration
  • Michelle Minitti, museum assistant director and faculty research associate
  • Carleton Moore, museum founding director and professor emeritus of Geological Sciences and Chemistry and Biochemistry
  • Amy J. G. Jurewicz, faculty research associate
  • Peter Buseck, Regents Professor in Geological Sciences
  • Phil Christensen, Regents Professor and Korrick Professor in Geological Sciences
  • Amy McAdam, a Ph.D. Candidate
  • Tom Sharp, associate professor in Geological Sciences
  • Everett Shock, professor in Geological Sciences and Chemistry and Biochemistry

The museum is located in the Bateman Physical Sciences Center C-wing in room 139 at Palm Walk and University Drive on the Arizona State University campus.
