Centennial High School (Georgia)

Centennial High School  is a public secondary school located in Roswell, Georgia.  Opened in 1997, it has an enrollment of around 2,000 students. The school's mascot is the Knights. Centennial High School is a part of the Fulton County Schools system.

  • Centennial's first State Championship was won by the 2006 Girls' Varsity Swim Team.
  • In 2004, its students had Metro Atlanta's highest average SAT score, 1132.
  • Since the Columbine shootings, students have had to use only clear vinyl or mesh backpacks.
  • The 2007 Boys' Varsity Basketball team set a school record with a 21 game winning streak, and were going 28-4. The team was crowned 2007 Region 6-AAAAA champion on February 17th, beating Chattahoochee High School 56-47 in overtime. They played Norcross High School in the state championship on March 9, but were narrowly defeated 59-58.
  • Centennial's 2007 Model United Nations delegation of Uganda traveled to New York for the National High School Model UN competition (NHSMUN) and placed second out of over 160 delegations.
  • Centennial was named in honor of the 1996 Olympic games held in Atlanta a year before the school's opening that marked the centennial anniversry of the modern games.
