Centaurea maculosa, the Spotted Knapweed is a species of Centaurea native to eastern Europe. It has been introduced to North America.
Like its relative, Centaurea diffusa it is an invasive plant species in the Rocky Mountains[citation needed], where it crowds out native species owing to its toxic root exudates.
