Censorinus (Roman usurper)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Censorinus (d. 270?) was a Roman usurper. After a long career in the Roman imperial service, Censorinus elevated to the throne at a very old age. Because of his lameness he was nicknamed Claudius; claudus means "lame". He became too strict for his soldiers and was murdered as a result. There is no historical evidence for the existence of Censorinus other than an entry in the Historia Augusta.
