From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A cemetery is a burial ground or graveyard, usually in an enclosed area of land. The word is derived from the greek term for "put to sleep". See also mausoleum for above-ground internment in monuments (e.g. the Père-Lachaise cemetery, in Paris).
