Cellador are a Power Metal band from Omaha, Nebraska, formed by guitarist Chris Petersen in 2003. After a constant rotation of members in the band's earliest days, Chris managed to maintain a relatively steady line-up by 2004 and the band were eventually signed by Metal Blade after playing a show with The Black Dahlia Murder.[1]

Sam Chatham left the band after they were signed and was replaced by Bill Hudson, who relocated to Nebraska from his native Brazil.

Former bass player Valentin Rakhmanov is originally from Russia, but his family moved to America when he was still a child.

Cellador's debut album Enter Deception was released in 2006. The band recorded the album at Erik Rutan's Mana Studios. In an article from the December 2006 issue of Metal Maniacs magazine, Chris Petersen says that the band's name came from the words "cellar" and "door". Petersen said that he read an essay online by author J.R.R. Tolkien which stated that the two words have an appealing sound when combined. Petersen also said that the band was originally called "Apostate", but the name was later changed to Cellador because he felt it was more fitting for the band. The Tolkien reference in the band's name was also stated by guitarist Bill Hudson durining an interview.[2]

Cellador has toured across the United States with bands such as Trivium, Sonata Arctica, and Kreator.[3] They have also been scheduled to perform at the ProgPower USA VIII Showcase on October 4th in Atlanta, Georgia.[4]
