Celestin (セレスティン Seresutin) is a character in the anime Ah! My Goddess The Movie. He was the primary antagonist of the movie, and was assisted by Morgan Le Fay.

Celestin was a high-ranking god in Heaven, and was on one of Heaven's council seats. He served as Belldandy's mentor for most of her training, from when she was a young girl. However, Celestin saw too much suffering in the third dimension, and did not wish to expose her to such a cruel world. So, as to demonstrate to Belldandy how unfeeling the gods were towards other beings, he showed her the Gate of Judgment, replaying the events where Morgan and her lover were torn apart.

He then attempted to destroy the Gate, which alerted Heaven to his dissent. Heaven's agents attempted to restrain him, but Belldandy, confused and saddened, lashed out with her powers and killed those who sought to harm her mentor. As a result of this, both of them were seized; Celestin was sentenced to a frozen state on the moon, while Belldandy, silent and motionless after the impact of losing her mentor, has her memories of him sealed away with a potion made by her older sister Urd.

After being freed from his prison by Morgan, Celestin made contact with Belldandy once again. This time he infected her with a virus which would be linked to her emotional state; so as to unbalance her emotions, the virus also sealed away her memories of Keiichi Morisato. With the assistance of Morgan, Belldandy's emotional state was further unbalanced, allowing the virus to work its way through Yggdrasil. When she was pushed to her limit, Peorth ordered a vaccination: a risky procedure which would destroy the virus, but possibly erase all of Belldandy's memories.

Once the vaccination begun, however, the virus began rewriting it: this had all been a part of Celestin's plan. Taking the rewritten program, Celestin, now in possession of Keiichi's body, used it to summon Yggdrasil to Earth: it was his belief that a new world without suffering could only be found by destroying Yggdrasil and, in the process the Third Dimension. Only after his plans were foiled by Belldandy did Celestin understand that his methods were flawed; he also finally realized that Belldandy was happy on Earth, living, learning, and loving. He was able to leave in peace after he realized this.
