Cecil Osborn Samuelson, Jr. (b. August 1, 1941) has been the 12th president of Brigham Young University since May 1, 2003. Prior to this appointment he had been a professor of medicine at the University of Utah, dean of the school of medicine there, and vice president of health services.

Samuelson's full-time service to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints began in 1994 when he was made a General Authority and appointed to the First Quorum of the Seventy. He has also served as as Area President and one of the Presidents of the Seventy.
