CD Projekt

CD Projekt is a Polish computer game publisher. CD Projekt company was founded in May 1994 by Marcin Iwiński and Michał Kiciński. From the beginning they wanted to publish software in the Polish market on compact discs. This company became the first Polish publisher to publish software on CDs and for long time it was the only company in Poland specializing in publishing computer and video games and educational software.
CD-Projekt is also known by polish gamer community as first company publishing fully translated world-wide hit games, such as Baldur's Gate saga (one of the first games fully translated into polish, event which became milestone of computer gaming and publishing in Poland), Planescape: Torment (considered by many gamers as best polish translation of all times), both Icewind Dale games and many more. The recent major translation, widely covered by all media, was Heroes of Might and Magic V. Most CD-Projekt's game translations include well known professional polish actors and celebrities, such us Piotr Fronczewski, Bogusław Linda, Małgorzata Foremniak, Daniel Olbrychski and countless more.
On February 2002 company launched new unit, CD Projekt RED STUDIO, specialized on developing computer games. First game in production is Wiedźmin (The Witcher) based on Andrzej Sapkowski's books.
On October 6, 2005 at 12:00 am CD Projekt has introduced to Polish gaming industry new services platform named: gram.pl (construe i'm playing.pl). It is portal created especially for players who wants to i.e. sell his game or buy new game. For buying game customer have special points called virtual cash ("wirtualne pieniądze") whereby gamers can buy next games. Life warrant is also provided for bought products. It means that warrant is not going to end by the time, but whenever the game media would be crashed it will be replaced by new media.
