[edit] Summary

This is the crystal structure of the soluble form of CD80. It is a necessary costimulating molecule needed to activate T cells for priming of an immune response. It is known to bind CD28 and is similar in function to CD86. The original Protein Data Bank (pdb) file was published by Ikemizu et al (2000). I animated the pdb using PyMol.

For the original pdb, see: Ikemizu, S., Gilbert, R.J., Fennelly, J.A., Collins, A.V., Harlos, K., Jones, E.Y., Stuart, D.I., Davis, S.J. Structure and dimerization of a soluble form of B7-1. Immunity v12 pp.51-60 , 2000
