Often referred interchangeably as a more developmentally appropriate term for "pre-kindergarten" and "preschool" as opposed to the more controversial K-4 term. It stands for "Child development-4" which means child development education for four year olds. Some schools often use the names CD-5 instead of the word kindergarten.
