CBR is a Canadian radio station, broadcasting at 1010 AM in Calgary, Alberta. It broadcasts the programming of the CBC Radio One network.
CBR's local programs are Calgary Eyeopener in the morning, and The Homestretch in the afternoons.
The station was launched in 1964. Calgary previously received CBC service from CBX's transmitter in Lacombe and from private affiliate CFAC.
On March 16, 2006, the CRTC approved an application by the station to implement a new FM transmitter in Calgary itself to simulcast the AM programming. This new FM signal, CBR-1-FM (99.1 MHz) launched Nov. 28 2006. [1] [2] Various other AM and FM rebroadcasters operate throughout southern Alberta.
