Classification and breed standards

A Cavachon is a type of dog that is a hybrid between a Bichon Frise and Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. They normally have a non-shedding to low-shedding coat and the kind temperament of both of its parent breeds. Purebreds of both the Bichon Frise and Cavalier King Charles Spaniel must be used as the parents to produce a Cavachon, but it is thought to not matter which one is the mother or father. The Cavachon is part of a growing trend in "designer dogs".

Adult weights range from 12 pounds to 28 pounds with most falling within the 20-22 pound range.
