Comment :Note about this mockup:
  • Intersection pages that have already been named appear like this. This example would has the name "African-American actors"
  • This version relies on "Other indexes" links to navigate outside of each branch of the intersection hierarchy.
  • It may be possible for the software to determine if intersection pages are empty or for users to flag intersection pages that are meaningless so that they don't appear on other index pages.
  • Almost everything on this page is to be automatically generated using the articles and subcategories of the intersected categories. The only section that was the result of user edits is the two "Other indexes" sections, and the names of linked indexes, which are all named at their own index pages. Most indexes are likely to get named very quickly.
  • This page might not be in a category, but a link to this page could be added to the indexes for "American actors", and "African-Americans". A better option for the the "African-American" index is to add a link to the intersection of Category:American people, Category:Occupations and Category:People of African descent which would be named "African-American people by occupation". From that index it would be possible to navigate to this index through the sub-indexes.
  • Indexes with more than 200 listings are paged. Large indexes need a table of contents.
  • There is no need to delete index pages. The indexes themselves always exist It is just the supplementary text on the page, and links to other related indexes. These can be added or removed without any special processes pages. Many indexes will be fairly trivial, and contain a single or few members. These probably do not need to be edited or named at all.
