[edit] On Wikipedia

  • Note- as it's holidays over here, and we're wrapping up our amazing swimming season (we just won our division!) I'll be on Wikipedia less, as I'm preparing for the next swim meet (defending Division 1, wish us luck) and a cattle workshop I've got coming up. I'll try to be on Wikipedia as much as I can however- see next point- and if you leave me a message on my talk page I'll get straight back to you. I'll be fully active again in about 2 weeks.
  • I'm on Wikipedia pretty much every day for a few hours, I'll be on less as I try to juggle more committments... I'm preparing to go away to a cattle workshop for a week, and swim training, as mentioned before. I also have various agricultural shows in the coming weekends, and on top of that I'm practising guitar for a few hours a day. However I'm still on Wikipedia editing as much as I can.
  • As I'm very interested in Alternative rock and other forms of alternative music, I've been editing a lot of those pages, and joining some Wikiprojects, like Wikiproject My Chemical Romance and others, and creating Wikiproject Panic! at the Disco. If you're interested in either of those, we're always on the lookout for new members.
  • I revert a lot of vandalism, and I also like to vote on AFD and TFD's. If I've reverted an edit that you believe was valid, or warned you for one that was not yours, please contact me on my talk page.
  • Note- I don't use usernames outside the website I originally registered it on, meaning if you see someone calling themselves CattleGirl off Wikipedia, it's not me, unless it's a mirror site of Wikipedia.

I work with cattle on a regular basis, and this year will hopefully be a good one, even with the drought. Our farm features a Red Angus stud. We also own a LOT of Romney's and East Friesians, and many rare chicken breeds, all of which we reguarly show in agricultural shows, including the Australian Sheep and Wool Show and the Royal Melbourne Show, where we show our cattle.

I'm a proud supporter of Greenpeace, a non-violent organisation that works for sustainability of the world's resources, and also saving lives of countless animals, most notably whales. I'm involved in many campaigns in reducing global warming, which raises money for funding green energy resources.

I also do not support nuclear waste and power, whaling, and a recent problem, bottom trawling, which is causing damage to the bottom of the earth's oceans.

This is just some misc stuff about me. If you don't believe in the same things I do, please don't vandalise my well-meant words here. If you find my words insulting or offensive in any way, please contact me.

  • I am a Christian, and I love Christian bands like Hillsong.
  • I am a proud supporter of Greenpeace.
  • Like the username, I love cattle.
  • I am going for an ambition to be a professional swimmer, and currently both swim and reguarly play waterpolo. My current Personal Best times are around 30-33 secs for 50 metres in most of the strokes. None of my PB's go over 38 seconds. My slowest strokes are backstroke and breastroke, and I specialise in Butterfly.
  • I play a lot of sport, and on top of swimming, but I also play waterpolo and netball, and have recently started triathlons.
  • One of my dreams is to also be a musician, and I aim to play 10 instruments by the end of my life. At the moment the count's 3- saxophone, at an advanced level, guitar (yes, my obvious favourite), at an intermediate level, and recorder- although, admittedly, I've forgotten most of it.
  • I'm obsessed with alternative music... and various movies. Current obsession is V For Vendetta- gotta love it.

I play electric guitar, have lessons and have been accepted into a band as one of two guitarists (God help us!). I also play saxophone, and sing a bit- backup in the band's case... oh dear. Since one of my passions is music, I wanted to say one thing on here. Don't cancel out an entire genre of music because of stereotypes. If you don't like one song, it doesn't mean it's all bad! Be open to all sorts of music, listen to people's suggestions for songs to listen to, and if you like it, you like it, and if you don't, you don't, whatever it is. Admittedly, most people, including me, enjoy one sort of music more than others- you'd be hard pressed to find a pop song I like, and I really don't like most "house" songs-but seriously, be open to everything. One more thing- if you don't like something, Wikipedia is not the place to tell everyone. There's forums for that.

Mexican Wolf

A captive Mexican Wolf (Canis lupus baileyi) at the Sevilleta National Wildlife Refuge, New Mexico, USA. This critically endangered subspecies of the Gray Wolf once ranged from central Mexico to the Southwestern United States. In 1980, the last five known surviving members were captured to save the species. Now, over 300 wolves are taking part in a wolf reintroduction program, with at least fifty individuals in the wild.
