- Could you do it? I mean if you wanted to know for sure. It's just, her parents and so on names are extremely un-Polish, even if you thought one of her ancestors changed it. Mad Jack 04:21, 20 July 2006 (UTC)

She certainly did say it on an interview, which I thought was odd, due to her last name. Further, it seems strange that the last names are so Anglo-Saxon in origin. On this interview, a question was asked about her family, and she commented something like, "They're from Poland, mostly." Michael 05:38, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
- Maybe husband's family or something? i.e. relatives by marriage. No, husband's names aren't very Polish. Maybe stepfather or something? I dunno but this is very weird Mad Jack 05:41, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
I happen to be part Polish (and have a Polish last name). Someone from Texas with the surname Barrett or Wilson is most-likely not Polish-probably not even half. This is really weird. Michael 05:49, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
- Well, lol, you don't have to be part Polish (I knew you were) to know her husbands aren't - their last names aren't anyway - it's pretty clear. None of the Texan Virginia Pridddys on the 1930 census are Polish, clearly. Her father, William Thomas Jr. Crier, was born in 1930 to William Thomas Crier and Imogene Lang. I suppose "Imogene Lang" is a suspect name, but none of the Imogene Langs on the earlier census seem even vaguely Polish. Mad Jack 06:02, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
- Although it is somewhat weird that you remember what nationality my last name is, I don't think Imogene Lang is that suspect. It's possible, but I believe Imogene is more of a...country-folk name. It still could be, though. This makes little sense at all. Hmmm... Michael 06:09, 20 July 2006 (UTC)

- Ancestry.com, my friend. For Texas and Minnesota, it has parents full names. For Cali, just mother's maiden name. No info for the rest of the country in terms of birth certificates, but they have the 1930 census and all those below it for the whole country. Mad Jack 06:24, 20 July 2006 (UTC)

- Well right at Ancestry.com. There's a search engine and you just put in the names. However, you need a subscription to view all the records. They give a 14 day free trial. Mad Jack 06:35, 20 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Removed from Category:American lawyers (for now)
I temporarilly removed this article from Category:American lawyers because it never mentions the subject actually being a practicing lawyer. It talks about her work as a judge, and a TV personality, but not as a lawyer. If the article is later expanded to mention her specifically practicing law at some point, then go ahead and place it in the appropriate subcategory of Category:American lawyers by state.Dugwiki 22:49, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
