Catoctin County, Virginia

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Catoctin County is a proposed new county in Northern Virginia named for the Catoctin Mountain and Catoctin Creek located there. The idea of Catoctin County began as a movement to combat the rapid development of the historically rural western region of Loudoun County. Loudoun County was one of the fastest growing counties in the United States in the 1990s. Purcellville is the proposed county seat.
