Catalina swimwear

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Catalina swimwear was a brand of swimsuits created by the Pacific Mills clothing company. Advertising for this brand took the form of the Miss Universe beauty pageant, created in 1952 for the purpose. Formerly this purpose had been served by sponsorship of the Miss America competition, but when Miss America 1951 refused to appear in a swimsuit, the clothing line decided to start their own pageant.
