[edit] Plot

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

"Cat Orgy" features only Cartman without his three other friends; this is part of the Meteor Shower arc. On the night of a meteor shower (the same meteor shower that features in the episodes "Two Guys Naked in a Hot Tub" and "Jewbilee"), Mrs. Cartman goes to Mr. Mackey's party, leaving Cartman in the care of Stan's 12 year old sister, Shelley, who is incredibly violent and calls everybody "turds." While babysitting, she invites her 22 year old boyfriend, Skyler, over, who in turn invites his band, The Lords of the Underworld (see "Timmy 2000"). Cartman, dressed up as Will Smith's version of Jim West from "Wild Wild West", is in his room, trying to get a letter to his mom by sending out his cat, Kitty. Kitty, however, is in heat, and goes out in search of a tom. After an unsuccessful attempt with an overweight tom, she winds up seducing a large group of cats, and invites them back to Cartman's house and cracks open the catnip. Madness ensues.

Back at home, Cartman comes up with a plan to get Shelley in trouble, but instead comes to pity her when Skyler, angry that Shelley won't "put out" for him (again, she is twelve), breaks up with her. Cartman and Shelley team up for revenge, and sneak into the woods near where Skyler lives. Cartman manages to entice Skyler out of his house with a taping of his Salma Hayek impersonation while Shelley sneaks in and destroys his prized guitar. They return home to find Kitty and many other cats engaged in a massive feline orgy. Skyler shows up, furious, but Cartman throws a box of catnip at Skyler, which attracts the clowder of cats, who attack him. Mrs. Cartman returns home, but fortunately she is very drunk and passes out without noticing the mess. Cartman and Shelley presumably clean up the house, and end the episode on a good note.

[edit] A connection between episodes

In this episode everybody is at a meteor shower party at Mr. Mackey's house and Cartman's mom leaves, and in another episode Stan goes to that same party with his parents, and Kyle is at Jewbilee with Kenny. In one scene of the episode "Two Guys Naked in a Hot Tub", one of the ATF agents looks through the window and sees Cartman's mom talking on the phone and in this episode, she talks to Cartman on the phone as well in that same spot with Mr. Mackey behind her. At the end of Two Guys Naked in a Hot Tub, Kyle walks up to Stan with his Jewbilee clothes on along with Ike. Kenny is not there because of his death in Jewbilee by using his own head to free Moses from the conch shell.

[edit] Kenny's Death

Kenny does not appear in this episode; see "Jewbilee" for his death in the story arc.

[edit] Pop Culture References

  • When Cartman takes a picture of Shelly and her boyfriend Skyler he yells "Ha, ha charade you are!". This is a repeating line from song Pigs (Three Different Ones) from Pink Floyd's 1977 Animals album.
  • Cartman can be seen watching Aliens at one point. He repeats Newt's line "They come out mostly at night. Mostly." in an apparently mocking tone after hearing it and paraphrases it several times throughout the episode.

[edit] Trivia

  • In this episode, Shelly is said to be 12. However, in previous episodes, she's said to be 13.
