Castlemore, Ontario

Castlemore is a suburban community that is located 14 km northeast of Brampton, about 45 km NW of Toronto, Canada, southwest of Bolton and southeast of Caledon and Orangeville. Castlemore is accessed with the superhighways (Highway 427) via Highway 7 and The Gore and the Highway 407 (ETR) at the Goreway interchange or at Airport Road interchange. Castlemore is located in the northern part of Brampton. The population is presently about 5,000. Housing developments presently continues in the southeastern portion. The West Humber flows in the western portion of Castlemore. The population live in all parts of Castlemore except for the eastern parts. The majority of the population between the 1960s and the late-1990s live in luxury homes with large minimum 2 acre lots - over 24 m (80 ft). Castlemore Road runs through part of what is known as the "Castlemore" region. Other roads includes Airport, Goreway,The Gore and Coleraine Roads and Conservation and Mayfield Roads.

Farmlands formerly surround Castlemore in the central part while in the Etobicoke and the West Humber valleys including parts of the hills, forests are founded including a conservation area further south. A portion of the luxury homes are around Alloa. The remaining farmlands are north of Castlemore. A small industrial building is at Cadetta and in the 2000s added Sears east of Castlemore. In 2004, the Chateaus began between Mayfield and Countryside and Goreway. The luxury homes are between Airport and Goreway and the Gore and Castlemore Road and Mayfield.

Castlemore has a few schools, a high school, a hockey arena, a swimming pool, a library, a post office, plazas, banks and parks. Estates includes The Chateaus in the Highland of Castlemore and the Highland of Castlemore.

The larger lots arrived in the 1970s and expanded in the northern portion of Castlemore in the 1980s. Large lots still continued until the 2000s. In 1996, Castlemore was connected with Rutherford, the construction took several months between March and June, in 1997, a road linking Bolton and Highway 7 (then Highway 50) expanded. In 2001, the southwestern portion near Springdale expanded and south of Castlemore since 2002 continues with smaller lots, in 2004.
