Castell Vaughn Bryant has been the interim president of Florida A&M University since January 2005.[1] She is the first woman to hold this position at the university.[2]

The Board of Trustees, upon her appointment, voted that Dr. Bryant would not be eligible to apply for or hold the permanent post of President of the University. Reverend R.B.Holmes, Co-Chairman of the Presidential Search Committee, announced that he hopes that a new permanent president will be appointed by the end of the year (2006).
