Cassis is a wine AOC in the Provence region of France.
Most of the wines are white, made from Clairette Blanc, Ugni Blanc, Marsanne, Bourboulenc, Sauvignon Blanc and Pascal Blanc grapes. Unusually for southern French white wines, these age well. Red wines are made from Grenache, Cinsaut, Mourvèdre, Carignan and Barbaroux. As in most of Provence, rosé wines are also common.
Little is transported outside of the region as production is small with a large amount usually going to serve the people and reaturants of the Riviera.
