Cassie Powney

Cassie Powney is a British actor who played Mel Burton in the soap opera Hollyoaks.
Her twin Connie Powney also had a role in this show as Sophie Burton.
She has been interested in acting since childhood and she and her sister did many twin roles including a part in a film called What a Girl Wants.
After Cassie's character, Mel was killed off from Hollyoaks on Friday 8th September 2006 in The Dog In The Pond Explosion, she took a brief break from acting, but Cassie has since landed a role in the BBC 1 soap, EastEnders. Her first scenes will be screened around Easter of this year.
