[edit] Biography
Casey is a sports anchor for the CSC evening sports program Sports Night along with his partner for ten years, Dan Rydell. Four years older, Casey is the more respected (and better-paid) of the pair while Dan is considered the "cool" one. While Dan's comparative lack of recognition is often a sore spot for him, Casey is bothered by not being considered "hip" even going so far as getting Jeremy Goodwin to rig an internet poll to make it appear as if Casey is the more popular of the two. Despite these sources of tension, Dan and Casey are fiercely loyal to each other and are as close, or closer, than brothers.
Not too much is known about Casey's childhood except that his father never appeared as supportive and proud of his son as he was, a quality which Casey sadly realized he possessed in his relationship with his own son, Charlie. Casey attended an unknown university where he met both his future wife Lisa and her friend Dana who would also play a significant role in his life. Casey and Lisa began dating when they were 19 and were married in 1988 when Casey was 23. The marriage was a bitter and unhappy one for Casey who was constantly being treated as if he wasn't good enough by Lisa. The beginning of the end came in 1993 when Casey was offered the job of host of Late Night (which eventually went to Conan O'Brien). Casey turned down the show in order to continuing doing a small sports show with Dan in Dallas, a fact which Dan never knew. Casey claims this was the beginning of the end for him and Lisa. They divorced in 1998.
