Case 39 is an upcoming 2007 horror film directed by Christian Alvart and starring Academy Award Winner Renée Zellweger and young Canadian actress Jodelle Ferland. The flim will also have Canadian actress Alexz Johnson. The film was shot in Vancouver in late 2006, and is expected for a late 2007 release. It is scheduled to be distributed by Paramount Pictures.

The film revolves around Emily Jenkins (Renée Zellweger), a social worker who fights to rescue a young girl (Jodelle Ferland) from her abusive parents. However, Emily soon discovers that there is more to young Lillith than what meets the eye, and that the situation is far more dangerous than it seems.

- On November 2, 2006, a fire started on the film's set in Vancouver. None of the cast was on the set at the time and nobody was injured, though the set was destroyed. [1]
