Waterson:Carthy are a British folk group comprising Norma Waterson on vocals, her husband Martin Carthy on guitar, their daughter Eliza Carthy on fiddle and Tim Van Eyken on melodeon. Tim joined the group after 1996 when Saul Rose left the group. Martin and Norma tour as a duo once a year, and are members of The Watersons

Individually, the band members are tremendously revered English folk musicians in their own right, but together they form one of the most sought bands available. Commonly found to be headlining folk festivals through Europe, they are known for their welcoming manner and determination to keep English folk music alive.

They were award Best Group in the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards in 2000.

Waterson:Carthy also appear as Blue Murder with brother Norma's Mike Waterson and the male trio Coope Boyes and Simpson. For the last three years Waterson:Carthy have been joined by The Devil's Interval (Jim Causley, Lauren McCormick & Emily Portman) on their Frost & Fire tours every December. The Devil's Interval also collaborated with W:C on their 2006 album; 'Holy Heathens and the Old Green Man'.
