[edit] Carolina Bays Parkway is an Interstate-standard road

According to an e-mail between myself and a member of the South Carolina Department of Transportation, I questioned about Interstate 74 signage. He replied,

Thank you for your e-mail regarding the Carolina Bays Parkway (CBP). In response to your question, the CBP was built to interstate standards and could be at sometime in the future designated as an Interstate. Further studies and funding will be needed before it could be determined whether CBP could be designated as future I-74. An act of US Congress is required to designate a road as an interstate facility. Also, for a road to be considered an Interstate it should have connectivity with other interstate facilities and the National Highway System. At this time it is premature to erect signs. I hope that this answers your question.

For all purposes, the Carolina Bays Parkway is an Interstate-standard roadway. --Isipeoria 03:17, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
