[edit] Who wrote the book?
The article states: "Dr. Taff and doctor Gaynor came out, in 1980, with the book that would eventually become a movie."
Would that be the book that says "Frank De Felitta" on the cover? Howw are Taff and Gaynor responsible for it?
[edit] Corrected lots of inaccuracies
In answer to the two questions above: to the best of my knowledge, there is no "serious" report of the "Entity" case to be found in any journal of parapsychology or any other "scientific" publication, even though Taff and Gaynor have both claimed to have published such a report (unfortunately, they systematically fail to give us a reference for it). The only "evidence" about this case is to be found in an often-quoted article in "Omni" magazine from the mid-1990's (the time at which the print version of the magazine lost its credibility as a result of its dealing with pseudoscientific cases, and eventually disappeared), and on doubtful websites - the article initially contained a link to one of them, which I have removed, assuming that Wikipedia has to list only serious sources. I have also made clear the lack of any reliable evidence for the authenticity of this case.
In answer to the second question: the claim that Taff and Gaynor have written a book about the "Entity" case seems indeed to be the product of a confusion with Frank De Felitta's novel, "The Entity", first published in 1978 (and not 1980). This is also something I have corrected in the original article. There is no question as to the fictional nature of De Felitta's book; and as I have said, there does not seem to be ANY serious non-fictional report of these events by any of those who allegedly witnessed them. It therefore strikes me as a good illustration of how certain individuals can use the credibility that their academic background and diplomas give them in order to manipulate people for financial purposes.
