Talk:Carl Herman Unthan

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I'm temporarily putting this on my watchlist because I have a book with an article on him but it's too late at night to go hunting for it. Anyway right now this is listed as lacking references. I put three and an external link in, but I admittedly didn't use any of them yet. After I fix it up, by using the information in the book, I might see about removing the deal about a lack of sources. Although I admittedly don't have his own book or the Mutants book.

Mr. Unthan's story is unusual, and maybe it initially sounded like someone made him up, but he was quite real.--T. Anthony 07:56, 12 September 2005 (UTC)

I decided to get the book out after all. There are things in the article I can't confirm from it, like the year he went to conservatory or his marriage, but it's basically all backed by sources now. Granted maybe that source can be questioned too, but some of what I read in reviews of Leroi's book confirms what I wrote. So I dropped the "verify" deal and it's off my watchlist.--T. Carl Unthan was certainly real, and I have a number of images of him and some further information which I will use to update the page when I get time. I have inserted one image on the page, with what I believe is the correct attribution. However, the actual image was grabbed from a web site. Also, I guess that the original copyright owner (the photographer?) has been dead more than 50 or 70 years, so I presume the copyright has expired anyway.

As a novice Wikipedian, I don't want to break any rules, but I hope this is OK. --Portnadler 13:29, 15 November 2005 (UTC)
