[edit] Summary

This image was created from the blank world map available on Wikimedia Commons. It was created after a previous attempt to depict the countries involved in the Jyllands-Posten_Muhammad_cartoons_controversy was deemed unfit. The more blue a country has, the more newspapers that printed the cartoons in that country. The more red a country has, the more major protests and boycotts a country had. Countries that are very red were home to at least one death due to the controversy. Countries appear purple because they have newspapers that printed the cartoons as well as major protests or boycotts.

Unlike past versions (see w:Cartoonmap-combined.png and w:Cartoonmap-combined-dark.png), this one contains a key. See Talk:Jyllands-Posten Muhammad cartoons controversy for discussion in this image and previous attempts to create an image similar to the one above.

I support moving the image to Wikimedia Commons if this image is considered worthy, but please tell me to move it; do not move it yourself.
