Cartoon series

Most cartoon fans wanted to watch something unrealist just so they can escape from reality. A note on usage: The duration of an individual episode varies from series to series. While some series may be produced as complete half-hour programs, many cartoons are produced as short subjects of 15 minutes or less. These cartoons are grouped and mixed together according to network programming demands. Thus a particular animated series may appear in a number of formats, often anonymously, e.g. The Cartoon Hour.

Generally, animated programs in the United States are comedies, although action/adventure, from the 1960s on, has been a popular genre; from the 1950s to the 1980s, these programs were generally aimed at children (at least those produced in the western world).

The 1990s was the renaissance of the animated series for children to adult in making a new way of writing and animation. Cartoon fans wanted to see action and comedy animated series in the 90s. There were a lot of animated series shown on television in the 90s, but many of them are still remembered by the fans today. Since cartoon fans demanded more animation than ever before, Networks, like Fox Kids, Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, Disney, and Kids WB, were the most donimate cartoon channels in 90s. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Eek! the Cat, Garfield and Friends, Spider-Man, The Tick, Tiny Toon Adventures, Animaniacs, Goof Troop, Duck Tales, Cartoon Cartoons, The Ren and Stimpy Show, Rugrats, and many more that has entertained cartoon fans for all ages. Later on in the 90s adult animation like the Simpsons (especially), King of the Hill, and many more made sure that cartoons aren't just for kids. Though the 90s, popular video games became animated series like Super Mario, Donkey Kong Country, and Sonic the Hedgehog. Anime, too, grew popularity as well. The 90s was truly the renaissance of animated series and they will always be remembered as one of the greatest animated shows shown on television.
