Carsten Smith

Carsten Smith (b. 1932, July 13, Oslo) is a Norwegian judge and lawyer. He is a former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Norway (1991 - 2002) and a professor of law at the University of Oslo. Among his many published works is Kausjonsrett. He is the husband of Lucy Smith, also a law professor and the former rector of the University of Oslo.
Carsten Smith was awarded the Grand Cross of the Royal Norwegian Order of St. Olav on May 13, 2003.
