[edit] Plot summary
Sidney Bliss (Sid James) runs a computer dating service with his "wife" that purports to bring together lonely hearts using computer matching. Actually couples are paired-up at random. Bliss himself consistently avoids marrying his business partner and long term girlfriend Sophie Plummett (Hattie Jacques), and instead puts more energy into pursuing Esme Crowfoot (Joan Sims) who consistently rejects his advances. Unmarried marriage counsellor Percival Snooper (Kenneth Williams) becomes a client in order to find a wife as that might help him in his career.
