[edit] Bañados de Carrasco
Lowlands in the delta of 'arroyo Carrasco', were dried to create a large park. The works have been questioned since the lowlands helped the water to recover from contamination. Now in turn this contamination goes into the River Plate without re-oxigenation in the lowlands. Several other lowlands can be found along the Uruguayan coast, in Maldonado and Rocha. Being a reserve for wild life, and an important touristic attraction.
