[edit] History

RC de Carpentras XIII et du Comtat was formed in 1947 by local residents hailing from the city of Carpentras in the south of France, the club originally competed in the amateur French league where it gained immediate success winning back to back titles over its first two competitive seasons. These victories allowed the club to progress to the French rugby league championship second division where it would then repeat the success it had achieved at amateur level going on to win another two consecutive titles in both the 1949 and 1950 seasons.

After having maximum success in the lower french leagues the Carpentras club progressed to the French rugby league championship in 1951 but the success that they had achieved on the field in previous showings would elude them in the top flight competition. After having captured four titles in its first four years after formation the club would fail to win a major title in either the Championship or the Lord Derby Cup over the next fifty-seven years.

[edit] Crest

The clubs logo is that a red bull uncannily similar in style to that of the club logo of American basketball team the Chicago Bulls; it has only adopted this logo in more recent times.
