[edit] Career
Caron moved to New York in her teens after being approached by photographer Patsy Dunn and asked to take test photos for her portfolio. Patsy was so moved by the results that she sent them to the New York headquarters of Ford Models. This was the open door that lead to a whole new career for Caron in America where she won the agency's Supermodel of the World contest.
Whilst there, she was introduced to legendary recording mogul Seymour Stein who tapped into Caron's childhood ambition of becoming a professional singer and signed her up to an album deal with his label Sire. However, this album was produced without a direction that really represented Caron, and was not released.
Unfettered, Caron remained in New York taking up acting work in movies such as Who's the man? and Business for Pleasure (where she took a leading role opposite Gary Stretch.) She is still pursuing music by developing her own unique style, inspired by all her punk-rock heroes as a teen (Bowie, Iggie Pop and Annie Lennox to name but a few), and has appeared in many different bands including Kill-5 and C - the band to which she performs in now.
She also works with artists such as Daniel Cartier, for whom she provided backing vocals on his "Avenue A" album.
[edit] Personal life
Caron Bernstein was previously married to German musician and lead-guitarist for the band Rammstein, Richard Zven Kruspe. Richard and Caron were married on October 29, 1999. They were together for five years until separating in 2004 and filing for divorce which was finalized in 2006.
As of May 2005, Caron has been dating Chris Booker, a former New York radio show host. Caron and Chris used to reside in New York, but they recently moved to Philadelphia. While vactioning in Cape Town, South Africa for the 2006 winter holidays, Chris proposed to Caron, although the week of March 18th, 2007 the relationship ended for unknown personal reasons.
