Carol Costello

Carol Costello (born October 11, 1961) is a new contributor to The Situation Room, providing updates from CNN's New York studios. She also reports on a variety of fitness issues during "The Bod Squad" reports shown throughout CNN programs. Previously, Costello anchored the CNN early morning program CNN Daybreak and also was news reader on American Morning.On October 4, 2006, the industry website TVNewser reported that Costello would be leaving American Morning but would remain at CNN as a New York-based correspondent.
A former resident of Atlanta, Georgia, Costello moved to New York after getting married in 2004.
Costello is a graduate of Minerva High School in Minerva, Ohio and Kent State University. After attending Kent State University, Costello worked at Akron, Ohio's WAKR-TV doing features reporting. Following that Costello was the main anchor for WBNS 10-TV, the CBS affiliate in Columbus, Ohio. Costello also worked as an anchor at CNN Headline News and was also the anchor of Good Morning Washington on WJLA TV, the ABC affiliate in Washington, DC.
Costello was nominated to run with the Olympic torch through the streets of Atlanta prior to the Atlanta Olympics.
