Carnegie is a railway station in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, located in the suburb of Carnegie, on the Pakenham and Cranbourne railway lines. It is in Metcard Zone 1

Carnegie is classed as a Host Station.

The station is located at the eastern end of the Koornang Road level crossing. Shops are located near the station.

The station consists of two side platforms. Platform 1 contains a large weatherboard building while platform 2 contains a small weatherboard building. A large Metcard machine is located at the entrance to platform 1, which is able to dispense most ticketing options available and also accept notes and coins. A small Metcard machine is located at the entrance to platform 2.

Both platforms can be accessed via Koornang Road.

[edit] History

Carnegie station originally opened on Wednesday, 14th May 1879 as Rosstown. It was later renamed to Carnegie in 1909.
