Carnegie Mellon School of Design

The Carnegie Mellon School of Design in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania is a degree granting institution and a division of Carnegie Mellon University's College of Fine Arts. The School of Design offers a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in either industrial design or communication design. After entering the program, undergraduate students have two semesters to choose which option they prefer. Also offered are a Masters of Design degree in either industrial design or communication design, a Masters of Product Development degree, offered jointly by the School of Design and the Department of Mechanical Engineering, and Bachelor of Humanities & Arts and Bachelor of Science & Arts, both interdisciplinary programs in conjunction with the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. The majority of facilities are located in Margaret Morrison Hall, including studios, offices, classrooms and labs. [1]. The school places a strong focus on collaboration in design.
