Carmi Gillon

Carmi Gillon (b. January 1950) (Hebrew: כרמי גילון‎) is a former Israeli ambassador to Denmark and a former head of the Shabak, the Internal General Security Service of Israel. He was fired as the head of the Shabak because of the failure of Shabak to prevent the assassination of Israeli prime-minister Yitzhak Rabin. He was highly criticized for being responsible for the gap in Rabin's security, and for his ill treatment of the Jewish section of the Shabak. Carmi Gillon is currently the mayor of the Jerusalem suburb Mevasseret Zion.

Gillon's appointment to the Denmark ambassadorship was questioned by some because he had permitted the use of "moderate physical pressure" on prisoners during his tenure as head of Shabak[1].
