[edit] Overview
Carlsbad High School is renowned for its high level of academic success and graduate levels. Located within walking distance to the Carlsbad beach, the sprawling campus features numerous buildings and facilities. The school thrives with cliques and groups, some more exclusive than others. While one may presume that the caliber of students at the school would be high because of the premier location, many students are from families struggling financially. Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger recently visited the high school to announce his plans for the future of funding and education in California's schools.
[edit] Carlsbad Gap
Carlsbad High School is home to the infamous Carlsbad Gap, a street skateboarding attraction popularized in skate videos and magazines. Carlsbad High School is featured in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater video game, where the gap is a skateboard obstacle.
