Carlos Païta

Carlos Païta (born 1932, Buenos Aires), is an Argentine conductor.

At a young age Païta attended rehearsals by Wilhelm Furtwängler at the Teatro Colón. Later he studied conducting with Artur Rodziński. He started his professional career at the Colón Theater before moving to Europe in 1968.

He is noted for some wild and exciting recordings issued on his own Lodia label. As of 2006, the label is out of business and his recordings are highly sought-after collectors' items.
